Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a marine and a gantry loading arm?

A marine arm serves jetty or berth loading, where it has to accommodate vessel movement, tidal range and draught change through its full range of motion. A road or rail gantry arm serves fixed filling points for tankers and ISO containers, with a shorter reach and a more repeatable envelope. We supply both.

What is an emergency release system and why does it matter?

An emergency release system parts the arm cleanly and closes both sides if a vessel drifts beyond the safe envelope, so the transfer stops without spilling product or damaging the arm or the manifold. On cryogenic marine service it is a fundamental safety requirement, not an option.

What does a dry-break coupling do?

It disconnects without releasing the liquid held in the line. On cryogenic duty that avoids both product loss and the personnel hazard of a cold-liquid release at the connection point.

Who manufactures AMG's loading arms?

They are supplied in partnership with the global manufacturer Furui / CCLPEC, with AMG providing the engineering, integration and lifecycle support.

Do you support arms after installation?

Yes. Full lifecycle engineering support is part of the offering, covering commissioning through to ongoing maintenance of swivels, seals and safety systems.
