Cryogenic Storage Tanks

Super-vacuum and conventional cryogenic storage engineered for minimal boil-off.

Cryogenic Storage Tanks

AMG designs and manufactures cryogenic and low-temperature storage tanks engineered for minimal heat transfer and optimal thermal performance. From vacuum-insulated site tanks to large bulk storage, every unit is built for safety and efficiency to stringent global standards.

We have delivered multiple 370kL LNG site storage tanks — complete with vapourisation skids — to Tier-1 clients supplying remote power generation across Australia's resources sector.

Frequently asked questions

What size cryogenic storage tanks does AMG supply?

From 5kL units through to 370kL and beyond. We have delivered multiple 370kL LNG site storage tanks to Tier-1 Australian clients, typically packaged with vapourisation skids.

Super-vacuum or perlite insulation — which should I specify?

Super-vacuum insulation gives the lowest heat ingress and therefore the longest hold time and least product loss, which usually justifies itself on higher-value or longer-dwell service. Perlite remains a sound, more economical choice for larger bulk tanks. We size the decision against your turnover rate and the cost of boil-off in your operation.

How much boil-off should I expect?

It depends on tank size, insulation system, commodity and ambient conditions, so we quote it per configuration rather than as a headline figure. Minimising it is a core design objective — our tanks are engineered for optimal thermal performance and extended holding time.

Can storage be supplied with regasification?

Yes. Integrated vapourisation skids are a standard option, and we regularly supply storage and regasification as a single package for remote power projects.

Which standards do the tanks comply with?

ASME VIII, AS 1210, AS 3961 and EN 13458, depending on the commodity, installation and the jurisdiction the tank is being registered in.
